Encore

You are too kind - go on then, here's some more....

(it's so hard to know where to start... do I fill you in on the last 27 years?
ok, so I'm lying already - I have clocked more than 27 years but I always lie about my age, it's something that is very important to me. My kids currently think I'm 74.
The truth is somewhere in the middle)

So, do I start at the beginning or just with today?

Today we went bowling. It's half-term. It was a birthday bowling event.
The bowling place had gone all glow-in-the-dark.
The kids all got given a bendy wibbly glo sticks.
I really wanted one but they didn't give me one so Cole let me have a go on his.
He asked me lots of questions about how it worked and whether or not God made it.
Romany bit hers so the glowee goo went in her mouth. It doesn't taste very nice she said.
My seven year old chews everything - what does this mean?
Gina Ford doesn't cover this topic but it probably is my fault.

I went bowling on a date once years ago.
(it took me a very long time to find Reg so consequently had lots of dates/boyfriends)
He was called Tony and I worked with him. He took me bowling.
My first rather enthusiastic throw went SIDEWAYS.
Over our lane, over the next lane and landed next door but one.
(wish I could say it was a strike but that would be fibbing)

My 4-nearly-5-year old boy Cole is asking So Many Questions at the moment.
Far more than his Big Sister Romany asked/asks. (it doesn't really occur to Romany that she doesn't Know Everything and now she is 7 she clearly does Know Everything. She told me today that she is into hip hop. When I asked her which hip hop groups she likes best she told me, the Sugababes ).

Cole's particular specialist subject for questioning at the moment is the english language and what is acceptable for him to say and what isn't (he told me he wasn't allowed to say "buttocks" at playschool, but I don't mind too much at home but he definitely overuses it.)

Cole: Mum, can I say, "crikey"?
Me: Yes, that's fine, you can say "crikey".
Cole: I can't say "bollocks" tho can I?
Me: .................. ahem.................
Cole, (walking away): I just did tho.

Is it wrong to feel proud?
